Hidden dessert place perfect for having a taste of Vietnamese treats. My Vietnamese coconut coffee dessert was on the sweeter side but nothing a bit more ice couldn't fix. Good price as well!

My bestie ordered the takeaway for me to try that time, it was very delicious yummy, not too sweet not too pain and just right for my swwet tooth. So I decided to go there to have a look. It was beautiful little store which located at a family oriented based neighborhood. Its good for family or catching up with some friends for a dessert or a simple snacks place to relax to get to know each others. I was impressed by the young coconut meats and the green tea caramel cream. So dessert. Staffs are very helpful and knowledgeable about the their menu. Of course i love the self serve chill water station and the dessert bar. Very unusual and special. Overall i love the decoration and set up of the restaurant its very welcoming and modern authentic Vietnamese decor with Aussie twist. I highly recommend this place for all the Vietnamese who miss their own desserts of snacks or the neighborhood in the west side. Thank you Saigon desserts and staff and chef.

Very authentic, lovely staff and delicious food!! Though this place is dessert focused the food was amazing on top of the yummy desserts too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be a regular customer here! - as a Vietnamese person too, this is by far one of the best places for genuine authentic Vietnamese food!! thank youuu

ORDERED JUNE 2025: 39. Coconut ice cream ($13.00) REVIEW: It may be winter in Melbourne but that won't stop me from having ice cream! Coconut ice cream at Saigon Desserts is elite. It has a distinct coconut flavour with peanuts and varying toppings giving texture. Every bite was a creamy, crunchy delight. This is my new favourite order!! ------ ORDERED in 2023: ​ 48. Flan Special ($16.00) REVIEW: The Flan special is definitely enough for 2 people! We stopped by Saigon Desserts on the way from dinner on a weekday and we were able to get a table with relative ease. It's nice to see a viet dessert place after everyone's focus on korean desserts (namely bingsu). Viet desserts are quite jelly-focused with a creamy coconut soupy base perfect for slurping. It's quite sweet and very reminiscent of what my parents used to buy me as a treat after dinner. Worth it!

Wow - what a place! I have been here many times now and tried many of their dishes (from the Che to the Savoury dishes) and I’m still coming back. Their range is incredible - with many types of Che that is very hard to find anywhere else in Melbourne. Prices are good, but a bit more on the pricier side if you are used to buying Che in Vietnam. About $8-16 for most of them. My favourites are their Flan specials. Their savoury dishes aren’t too great compared to Che however. The place is quiet small and very noisy though. You may need to wait a few minutes to get a seat and often you’ll be squished up next to a lot of people. If you ever have an itch for Vietnamese desserts, go here.

Been living in Footscray for more than 3 years and didn't found this little gem until this weekend through a friend recommendation. This place is awesome, all the Saigon snacks that I haven't had in years since I have not travelled to Vietnam. Note that there are minor tweaks in the recipe so it won't be a 1 for 1 of what they are like in Vietnam. But it certainly does have a good representation of the flavours. I wish the sizing was a little bit bigger, especially the savoury sticky rice. But most dishes are <$15, which is so good! I've come back for a second time already and I will be back again!!
